‘Flow With Tea: A journey through mindfulness, breath and movement’

In this event Mats Onsum and Maoting Lu are joining forces to provide a journey through breath, movement, and meditation, accompanied by wonderful scents and flavors from selected premium teas brewed in a traditional and ceremonial fashion, where the brewing of the tea is a mindfulness practice in and of itself.

Our aim is to enter a state of calmness, openness, and mindfulness before appreciating the rich flavors and sensory impressions and the uplifting or calming energies of the various teas.

As we transition from autumn to winter, allow yourself some space during this period — and everything that comes with it — to lower your shoulders, clear your mind, and enjoy the small things in life.


This experience also makes a thoughtful gift for loved ones who could benefit from slowing down and reconnecting with their body, breath, and senses.

 

Event Plan

Light Breath Work and Gentle Yoga

Begin with a calming blend of pranayama breathing techniques and gentle yoga, designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness. This practice is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, focusing on simple yet effective techniques to enhance your breathing and release tension. Through gentle movements, you’ll cultivate flexibility and peace, allowing for a deeper connection between body and mind. 

Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony

In this ceremony, we use a Gaiwan—a lidded bowl designed for brewing delicate tea leaves. The process is intentional and calming, inviting you to experience the beauty of tea through multiple infusions, each offering unique flavors and aromas as the tea evolves with each brew.

Meditation

After the tea ceremony, transition into a soothing meditation designed to deepen your sense of relaxation and connection to the present moment. Guided by gentle prompts, this meditation will encourage you to reflect on the flavors and experiences of the tea, fostering a state of mindfulness and inner peace. As you settle into stillness, you’ll be invited to focus on your breath and the sensations in your body, allowing the calming effects of the tea to enhance your meditation practice. This moment of introspection will help you integrate the day’s experiences and leave you feeling refreshed and centered.

Tea Gift Bag

To carry the experience with you, each participant will receive a thoughtfully curated Tea Gift Bag at the end of the ceremony. Inside, you’ll find samplers of the teas tasted during the session, allowing you to continue exploring their unique flavors at home.

Guidelines and Policies 

We provide all the necessary props in the studio, so all you need to bring is yourself, a water bottle, and comfortable, cozy clothes that allow freedom of movement. 

Show up around 15 minutes before the event starts to find your place, get situated, and help us make the start of the event as smooth as possible.

Cancellation Notice:

  • If you need to cancel your participation, please notify us at least 48 hours before the event to receive a full refund.

  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event will not be eligible for a refund, as we will have already prepared for your participation.
