Haridev and Iselin share how yoga entered their lives many moons ago!

Haridev: Welcome! This is Haridev.

Iselin: Hello, my name is Iselin.

Haridev: So, Iselin you teach at Core Balance and how did you get into yoga?

Iselin: Well, I've been teaching yoga for about a decade actually, and I got into it when I was really young. I was a dancer and borrowed this book from the library actually, this is gonna be a long episode now! I'm gonna make the story short, but I like did some poses and I started meditating on my own, just through books. And then, when I was studying dance here in Oslo, many moons ago, I was really stressed, so I turned to my tools of meditation and yoga, back in the day when you had to put on a DVD.

Haridev: That's how I started too! I found a book, and I was like, this is amazing! And then I found a video online, and then I got a Kundalini Yoga DVD. That's how I started Kundalini Yoga.

Iselin: Cool! I did Hatha yoga. I did a Hatha teacher training in Italy where I lived many years. But then, I turned from yoga...well, I still do yoga and teach yoga but,  during the pandemic, I needed something else because I lost a lot of my classes, so I started teaching Barre, which is a great combination with yoga because it strengthens your entire body and it's really good also for your mindset because it's really tough. Like Kundalini yoga, it is sometimes as well! But yeah, it can be a great addition to your yoga practice.

Haridev: So, when do you teach Barre?

Iselin: I mostly teach Barre on the weekends, so it fits perfectly with your schedule if you're not going to your hytte! But I teach Barre stretch on Saturdays, and then we have Barre on Sundays and Thursdays as well. So we're gonna have a lot of fun workshops this Spring, so it's a perfect opportunity to bring a friend and work out together!
