Haridev and Ann Christin

Listen to Ann Christin and Haridev's inspiring conversation on how Kundalini Yoga changed Ann Christin's life and led her to become a yoga teacher.

Transcript:

Haridev: Hi, this is Haridev.

Ann Christin: And I'm Ann Christin.

Haridev: So, Ann Christin, what made you decide to be a Kundalini Yoga Teacher?

Ann Christin: So, this is fun because I never really intended to be a yoga teacher. The reason why I searched up and attended the teaching class was because I had a lot of stress, I couldn't sleep at night and my mind was totally at speed all the time. I was overworked, I had pretty small children and a work that was quite intense for me at that time, and a husband that traveled a lot. So, I just needed some practice, and I was attracted to it. Why? I don't know, it just spoke to me a lot, the spiritual aspect as well as the effect it had. So, I took the education and I just did it for myself. But when I reached the end, and I could see what it did to me, and actually people around me also started asking - what did you do? I decided that it was a treasure that was too precious to just keep by myself. So, I wanted to share, and I became really passionate about it. I started actually quite early after the teaching, to share it in my neighborhood with my neighbours and friends and family, and after a while I also started teaching here at the studio, and I stayed ever since. It's my anchor.

Haridev: Beautiful! So, what are some of your favorite practices or favorite practice from Kundalini Yoga?

Ann Christin: Actually, it's always back to basic for me. So, the exercises I always return to are just getting the spine working, like spinal flex, stretch pose to engage the navel, stretching the legs, but a lot with the spine and the neck and just feeling the energy flowing through the body. That's actually my challenge, flowing in the neck, I can get stiff in my neck and in my shoulders. But I always return to this and it makes me come back again. Because when it's stuck it's like you lose yourself a little bit. When you get it flowing, it's such a relief!

Haridev: I know what you mean! Thank you so much Ann Christin

Ann Christin: Thank you!
